Putting a Google map in your website is simply a great way to show your customers where your business is located, and makes your website appear more dynamic and attractive.
Some other common uses of mapping:
- Allowing customers to enter their address and then showing them driving directions both graphically and as step-by-step instructions
- Driving directions from fixed points such as airport or train station both graphically and as step-by-step instructions
- Showing multiple points on the map indicating related points of interest, for example local visitor attractions or transport hubs
Standard Map
A simple location map is an effective way to show where your business operates using a single ‘marker’ to pinpoint the location. The website visitor can zoom in and out, pan left, right, up and down, switch between map and satellite photo views.

Multiple Markers
Multiple markers can show nearby related points of interest and how they are geographically related to your business. In addition, the map can be configured so that when the website visitor clicks on a marker a pop-up balloon appears showing more information about that location, and can include pictures and links to external websites.

Driving Directions

Driving directions can be extremely useful to customers if they need to make their way to your place of business by car, and they normally include a visual route shown on the map plus step-by-step driving instructions. Multiple routes can be accommodated on the map – directions from airport, train station, town center etc – by asking users to click on the route they want to display. Please note driving directions are not available in all locations.
